Zara Hanson, LCSW

I’m Zara Hanson, LCSW, and the founder of Indigo Therapy PLLC. I provide virtual therapy across the state of Montana, offering a grounded, reflective space where clients can explore, heal, and reconnect with themselves.

Between the ups and downs of life’s events, insight and transformation can still be found — this is the space of indigo, where reflection becomes clarity and healing begins. Therapy is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover the parts of yourself that may have been overshadowed by survival, stress, or self-doubt.

My clinical approach draws strongly from psychodynamic and person-centered therapy, with integration of ACT for acceptance and values-based growth, and EMDR for trauma processing and memory reprocessing. My style is both compassionate and direct — curious, collaborative, and attuned to your unique story.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Montana (2013) and a Master of Social Work from Walla Walla University (2022). These academic foundations and years of clinical experience have shaped my belief that meaningful change arises when we bring awareness, courage, and self-compassion to our own process.

At Indigo Therapy, I create space for quiet work and brave questions — a process of reflection, accountability, and growth. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, or a deeper search for self-understanding, our work is about finding balance, building resilience, and returning to your center — your indigo.

This is a space for quiet work, brave questions, and meaningful transformation — guided with care and clinical expertise.
